How often should a septic tank be pumped in Florida?
Most Polk County homes need a pump-out every three to five years. Florida’s sandy soil drains well, but our high water table and year-round warm temperatures keep tanks biologically active. Households with a garbage disposal, more than four people, or an undersized tank should lean toward the three-year end.
Do I need a permit to replace a septic system in Polk County?
Yes. New installations and most repairs go through the Florida Department of Health in Polk County, including a site evaluation and soil test before work starts. We handle the permitting paperwork and inspections as part of every installation, so you are not chasing forms.
What are the warning signs of a failing drain field?
Slow drains throughout the house, gurgling pipes, sewage smells in the yard, and grass that is suspiciously green and spongy over the field are the big four. Standing water after a normal rain is another. Caught early, a drain field can often be restored rather than replaced, which is a fraction of the cost.
How long does a septic tank installation take?
Once permits are in hand, a typical residential installation takes one to three days. The site evaluation and permit approval add a couple of weeks before that. We give you a realistic schedule at the site visit and keep you posted at every step.
Can you handle the dirt work for a new build too?
That is half the business. Jacob started in commercial site prep and excavation, so lot clearing, grading, building pads, culverts and driveways are all in-house. One contractor for the sitework and the septic means one schedule and no finger-pointing.
What does a site visit cost?
Nothing. Jacob walks the property, looks at the system or the land, and gives you a firm price and a straight recommendation. If the honest answer is that you do not need work yet, that is the answer you get.
Do you serve my town?
If you are within about fifty miles of Lakeland, yes: all of Polk County plus Plant City and Valrico on the Hillsborough side. The service areas page lists every town with its own local page, and addresses on the edge of the map get a straight yes or no on the first call.
How fast can you get out for an emergency backup?
Active backups jump the line. Call and describe what is happening; Jacob will tell you what to shut off right away and get the visit scheduled as fast as the calendar physically allows, usually within a day or two and often sooner. Texting photos of the problem speeds everything up.
